Intrigued by the editor of "Nature" Magazine's statement that the Piedra Lumbre Land Grant was "The Best Place in the World" Georgia O'Keeffe wound up splitting her time between New York and the area where the Rio Azul Ranch is located, to find new inspiration for her art. With the exception of Lake Abiquiu, the Piedra Lumbre Land Grant looks much as it did thousands of years ago. The reflections of the fire red cliffs upon the Rio Chama at sunset and the expansive views are magnificent!
