Description
In 1876 William Needham packed up and moved his family from Tennessee to East Texas settling in Rusk County near the community of Laneville. He established the Running N Ranch, a 1500-acre cattle operation. Through five generations of ownership, multiple parcels have been sold leaving 602 +- acres. The ranch is located 12 miles from Henderson, Texas population of 13,502 and has road frontage on FM 225 and County Road 4176 D Large land tracts in East Texas do not often come up for sale, but the Running N Ranch, a 602-acre legacy property in Rusk County Texas, is for Sale. The ranch is an ultimate hunting, recreational and cattle grazing property. The numerous assets on the land include several important water features, Buckner Creek, Irwin Branch, two livestock ponds, five Artesian wells and a 10-acre levee duck pond designed and built under the supervision of Ducks Unlimited. The 200 acres of hardwood and pine timber forest along with the water assets, offer fantastic wildlife habitat at the Running N Ranch. The hunting opportunities are endless on the ranch including Whitetail Deer, feral hogs, ducks, squirrels and other small varmints that inhabit the woods of East Texas. The owner has managed the Whitetail Deer hunting for many years with few hunters and a one-buck limit that must be an inside spread of 15” or greater. The multiple pastures and livestock ponds throughout the ranch offer fantastic cattle grazing opportunities. Rusk County Texas receives an annual rainfall of 48 inches creating lush green pastures from March to November. FEMA has designated a portion of the property along Buckner Creek in the Zone A Flood Plain. Sources say the high-water areas on the land drain rapidly.
