At an elevation of 3400 feet the ranch boasts 2158 deeded acres, with an additional 1234 acres of BLM and 635 acres of state grazing, for a total of 3854 acres. The ranch is an ideal combination of rugged canyons, rolling hills, rangeland pastures. Welcome to the Boot Print Ranch. With multiple water wells, springs and reservoirs the ranch has excellent water resources for livestock and wildlife. Healthy populations of elk, mule deer, antelope, turkeys and grouse call the Boot Print Ranch home. The Boot Print Ranch is located in Hunt district 535 for Deer and Elk and District 536 for Antelope. The Ranch meets the Montana Game and Fish requirements for Landowner Preference for Deer and Elk permits. This area of central Montana is cattle country. Boot Print Ranch is located 15 miles northeast of the town of Roundup, which got its name because, historically ranchers in the area found it to be an ideal area to “roundup” cattle herds in the fall each year. With abundant wheatgrass and other native grasses, the area offers ideal grazing for cattle. The ranch is currently leased for grazing, May through December. Divided into several parcels the ranch is connected by the bordering BLM and State lands to the north. The majority of the ranch is protected by a conservation easement, with the Montana Land Reliance. This easement precludes future subdivision, while allowing for continued use as a cattle and recreational property. The easement does allow for two new residential homes with associated out buildings. There is 320 deeded acres that is not included in the conservation easement. With breath taking scenery, the summer months offer hiking, backpacking, horseback riding, mountain biking, and world class hunting. If you are looking for a Montana Ranch lifestyle, with spectacular scenery, and access to world class recreation, hunting, this is it.
